A Tribute to Jewish Composers of WWII and After for Princeton Pro Musica

I am honored that Princeton Pro Musica asked me to curate an evening of song and poetry in advance of their choir’s performance of James Whitbourn’s oratorio Annelies. The evening will feature compositions by Jewish composers: Erich Korngold, Leo Smit, Henriëtte Bosmans, and Ruth Schonthal. Selected poetry from “I Never Saw Another Butterfly: Children's Drawings and Poems from Terezin Concentration Camp, 1942–1944” will be read by well-known poet, and my dear friend, Spencer Reece (https://www.poetryfoundation.org/poets/spencer-reece). Spencer also reads his own deeply moving poem, “Margaret,” about a Holocaust survivor he knew in Minnesota. We will be joined by the fabulous pianist, Jason Wirth (www.jasonwirth.com) and fantastic flutist, David Ordovskiy (www.davidordovskiyflute.com). Please listen in on live-stream!
