Pianist Jason Wirth and I travel to Iowa to give a recital for the Iowa Federation of Music Clubs during their 2022 Conference (an event postponed from 2020). It means the world to me to return to my home state which I represented as the winner of the National Federation of Music Club’s Biennial competition in Voice in 2019. From the ages of 6 to 17, I participated in NFMC competitions as a pianist under the tutelage of my beloved piano teacher and friend, Marilyn Mitchem, of Bettendorf, Iowa.
